Easter
Egg Hunt April 11, 2009
Another glorious day for fun and adventure. 39 children
with parents and friends in tow arrived at Horizon for
the 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Open House.
They were greeted by some of our Horizon horses before
making their way to registration. At just after 1 pm
they took off in a frantic hurry to collect as many
eggs as they could. If one round of egg hunting wasn't
enough, we turned them loose in a different area for
a second round. Needless to say, everyone received some
chocolate

|
After
the tabulations of eggs collected we arranged for some egg and
spoon wheel barrel races in which the parents really got into
the spirit of racing around a small course pushing their child.
Along with the races, there was an egg toss for the really little
ones, another egg toss for the older group and then we closed
the day with pony rides. |
These
of course were the next highlight after eating chocolate! Our
two Horizon horses Splash and Jitters carried pretty much all
the children and some parents patiently one at a time.
  |
 Many
door prizes were handed out including some lovely baskets full
of goodies, some stuffed bunnies and Horizon shirts to 1 in
each of our age categories. Pictures were taken with our surprise
visitor…. Teddy, who gave lots of hugs and high fives
to all the children. |
The tabulation for the highest egg collectors
is as follows:
For the Cowpokes in which there were
10 participants, the winner was Mackenzie Byman with 20 eggs.
In the Little Britches category with
11 participants, the winner was Shelby Weltz with 24 eggs.
Over to the Buckaroos with 16 participants
we have our winner, Connor McLaughlin with 33 eggs.
And to round them out in the Hoofbeats
division with 2 participants, Kara McBride with 10 eggs.
Thanks
so much to everyone who participated, we hope you enjoyed
yourselves and will return again for more fun next year!
