In my work with horses, I use communication called Applied Kinesiology (muscle testing). This method simply works on the basis of energy surrounding a component of the horse as being "strong" or "weak". The use of muscle testing helps to find the "weakness" and restore energetic balance to the horse's body. In conjunction with the muscle testing, I use a wide a variety of balancing techniques and remedies. I feel strongly that a broad spectrum of energetic tools provides a well- rounded therapy for the horse as every horse is unique and prefers particular remedies. For Example: I could have two horses both exhibiting neck stiffness, one horse prefers a special blend of aromatherapy called "Alignment Blend" and the second horse prefers a good hands on massage. That's what I love about the muscle testing. It is individual based - your horse gets to do his own shopping!

Horses are a beautiful blend of athletes, mentors, companions and best friends. From their physical structure, to emotional and spiritual greatness, horses are more than just animals we ride and drive. We are drawn to them for the power and freedom they provide. We are entranced by their wisdom of survival and their heightened fears of the garden hose. We are awed by their ability to humble us when our ego's grow and always return to them when our spirits are low.
  • Massage therapy; a great way to keep horses healthy and happy - loosen up sore muscles, minimize stiffness and release toxins form the body to restore freedom of movement
  • Structural balance; harmonize the anatomical (skeleton) and physiological (muscles) structures of the body
  • Energetic balancing; improve the energetic pathways of the body by balancing switches, chakras (energy centers of the body) and meridians
  • Nutritional testing; Nutritional testing helps to determine what foods, vitamins or minerals will strengthen your horses energetic frequency. It is often seen we are supplementing too much rather than too little.
  • Saddle fitting; incorrect fitting tack can create a great deal of stress on the horse. The most obvious being muscular restriction from the pressure points of a bridging saddle. Additionally, other problems such as head tossing, stiff neck, kidney and digestive problems can result.
Horses are great communicators. In their attempts to tell us they are hurting, ill, sore or have emotional blockages they display physical signs of distress such as pinned ears, swishing tail, bucking, lethargy, colic attacks, cinchy behavior, crankiness, unexplained spookiness.

Food For thought:
The forelimbs of the horse are attached to the horse's body by muscle only
  • Serrated Cervical Muscle - Originates from the transverse processes of the cervical spine (the neck) attaches to the backside of the scapula (shoulder blade)
  • Serrated Thoracic Muscle - Originates from the back side of the scapula (shoulder blade) and attaches to the first 8-9 ribs
